About the Artist
Deborah Medina works with emotions and media. Raw, sometimes personal expressions come to life in her drawings and paintings, which often present women who endure varying degrees of struggle and suffering with tangible inner strength. Much of her work is realized in the moment, with little preconception or set intent. Deborah's art is her life, her mind, her thoughts at the time of creation. It is not uncommon for her projects to remain unfinished until the emotional creative space that inspired the work returns at a later date. Sadness, depression, anger, sex, violence and ultimately salvation are recurring themes in this artist's work but not the only muses inhabiting her considerable palette.
Deborah was born and raised locally in Santa Monica and today lives in Venice, California.
